Routine eye exams can be booked through the appointment line or TRICARE online. We currently see active duty service members assigned to the 86th MDG for routine eye exams, contact lens updates, and annual health exams. Please bring your glasses and/or contact lenses, including your current contact lens prescription or box, to your appointment. Initial contact lens fits are completed only for the Aircrew Soft Contact Lens Program for members on flying status. Please be aware that the provider may want to dilate your eyes and that it is illegal to drive in Germany with your eyes dilated; please plan accordingly.
Our walk-in hours are Mondays, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m., and Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. We provide the following services during walk-in appointments:
- Color vision tests for CMA
- Distance visual acuity tests for IMR updates
- Laser eye exams
- Driver’s license forms completion
- Glasses: orders, repairs, and adjustments
- Prescription rewrite
For corneal refractive surgery, aircrew and special duty members must coordinate their pre- and post-op care with the Ramstein Optometry Clinic. For non-aircrew and non-special operations members, obtain required paperwork from the LRMC WRESP website (Warfighter Refractive Eye Surgery Program), and call the LRMC Surgical Center Refractive Surgery Clinic directly at +63-719464-6361.
For emergencies, including eye injuries, sudden loss of vision, sudden blurry vision, or any other emergency, please call the Ramstein appointment line during duty hours, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m., at +63-7146-2273, or report immediately to the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center emergency room.
