Book routine eye exams through the appointment line or by calling the clinic directly. We currently see active duty service members only for routine care; however, we see dependents and retirees for acute issues (eye pain, discharge, redness, etc.) on a space-available basis.
We provide the following services:
- Routine glasses and health evaluations
- Deployment exams
- Initial Flying Class physicals
- Contact lens fitting evaluations
- Driver’s license exams
- Occupational exams
- Diabetic evaluations
- Refractive surgery evaluations
Please bring your glasses and contact lenses, including your current contact lens prescription or box, to your appointment. Initial contact lens fits are completed only for the Aircrew Soft Contact Lens Program for members on flying status.
Please be aware that the provider may want to dilate your eyes and that it is illegal to drive in Germany for 8 hours after your eyes are dilated; please plan accordingly.
We are open for walk-in services Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m..
We provide the following services to our walk-in patients:
- Color vision tests for CMA/flight-line driving
- Distance visual acuity tests for IMR updates
- Glasses: orders, repairs, and adjustments
- Deployment checklist (must bring two pairs of glasses and protective mask inserts to be signed off)

For corneal refractive surgery, aircrew and special duty members must coordinate their pre- and post-op care with the Ramstein Optometry Clinic.
Non-aircrew and non-special operations members must get required paperwork from the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center Warfighter Refractive Eye Surgery Program website and call the LRMC Surgical Center Refractive Surgery Clinic directly at +63-719464-6361.
In emergencies, including eye injuries, sudden loss of vision, sudden blurry vision, or any other emergency, please report immediately to the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center emergency room.
