The 86th Medical Group provides health care services supporting three wings, three Air Force, USAFE, NATO, 139 geographically separated units in 93 countries and the largest Depatment of Defense military community OCONUS. Largest Air Force clinic and largest USAFE Medical Group with 101,000 appointments per year and 948 personnel. En Route Patient Staging Facility with 146,000 patient movements since 2003.

Busiest Patient Movement Items Center; $37.6 million supporting 6,000 Aeromedical Evacuation missions. USAFE’s largest War Reserve Materiel account ($25 million), supporting three COCOMS. Created Air Force’s first en route surgery evacuation team with 300 members. Largest OCONUS Dental Clinic; 48,000 appointments/year; USAFE’s only Area Dental Lab.

86th Aerospace Medicine Squadron

Largest overseas aerospace medicine squadron serving over 57,000 Kaiserslautern Military Community beneficiaries. Executes aerospace and operational physiology, optometry, public health, en route patient staging, bioenvironmental engineering, flight medicine, and health promotion programs for three wings, HQ USAFE-AFAFRICA, CC-Air HQ Ramstein, two NAFs and 139 geographically separated units in 93 countries. Manages Air Force’s most diverse En Route Patient Staging Flight moving 2,720. EUCOM/CENTCOM/AFRICOM patients annually.

86th Dental Squadron

Operates the Air Force’s largest OCONUS dental squadron. Provides high quality, compassionate dental care to members of the Kaiserslautern Military Community. Maintains in-garrison and expeditionary oral health readiness for over 54,000 active duty personnel and family members comprising 45,000 annual patient visits and 128,000 procedures. Provides comprehensive dental laboratory, consultative educational support/prevention in the European theater.

86th Medical Squadron

Provides primary, specialty, subspecialty medical care for 235,000 EUCOM, CENTCOM, AFRICOM war fighters and family members at the premier Level III Trauma Center outside the United States. Supports the region's only combined Army/Air Force referral center, comprised of 2,800 personnel, 100 routine beds, 128 contingency beds, and an annual operating budget of $193 million. Deploys across three theaters to support contingencies, humanitarian aid and special operations missions. Staffs Expeditionary Medical Support and other tri-service deployable medical units.

86th Medical Operation Squadron

Delivers premier, high quality, customer focused medical, mental health, pediatric and physical therapy services in the largest Air Force ambulatory care facility. Serves a population of over 57,000 beneficiaries executing 70,000 clinic visits annually. Ensures Air Force warriors from Kaiserslautern Military Community and 23 GSUs are medically ready to deploy, anywhere, at any time. Promotes healthy living and disease and case management to ensure optimal health.

86th Medical Support Squadron

Provides exceptional medical/administrative support to the largest USAF OCONUS ambulatory healthcare facility by delivering on the promise of world-class healthcare to the members of the 86th Airlift Wing. As such, we ensure the wing’s combat readiness posture by delivering comprehensive peacetime healthcare to 18,000 enrolled beneficiaries resulting in over 63,000 annual patient visits. Supports the Aerospace Expeditionary Force both as the largest medical War Reserve Material account in USAFE with 125 Unit Type Code packages valued at $27 million dollars and mobilizing/deploying Airmen on short notice to provide rapid and precise medical support worldwide.
